Maribor fail to break down Mura despite having an extra player

Maribor had a man advantage for more than half an hour but could not beat Mura, settling for a 1-1 draw at Ljudski vrt.

Isaac Mulowati put the hosts ahead in the second minute. Niko Kasalo equalized for Mura in the 44th minute, leaving the visitors with a point despite Maribor’s pressure.

Mura went down to 10 players in the 54th minute when Aljaž Zalaznik was sent off. Maribor had expected to collect another three points against a team sitting second from bottom, but failed to turn the numerical advantage into a winning goal.

The match was played in an empty stadium, with the final game of the round between Celje and Koper still to come. Other results included Nafta’s 3-1 win over Radomlje, a 0-0 draw between Aluminij and Bravo, and Olimpija’s 3-0 victory over Brinje Grosuplje.
