Marina Silva Registers Senate Bid for São Paulo, Declares R$274,500 in Assets

Former Environment Minister Marina Silva has officially registered her candidacy for the Senate representing São Paulo, declaring assets totaling R$ 274,500 to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). This filing marks Silva's sixth electoral bid since 2010, underscoring her long-standing political career.

Silva's electoral journey began in 2010 when she first ran for the presidency under the Green Party (PV). In 2014, she stepped up to lead the presidential ticket after the tragic death of Eduardo Campos, garnering 22.1 million votes. She ran for president again in 2018 and, in 2022, was elected as a federal deputy for São Paulo, the position she currently holds.

Her declared assets show a significant increase from four years ago when she reported approximately R$ 120,900. This time, her R$ 274,500 in assets are broken down into R$ 102,400 in real estate, R$ 91,700 in savings accounts, R$ 57,900 in bank deposits, R$ 16,700 in fixed-income investments, and R$ 5,500 in private pension plans.

Currently affiliated with the Sustainability Network (Rede), Silva is now part of a historic all-female ticket alongside Simone Tebet (PSB). This ticket has received the endorsement of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), signaling a significant alignment within the political landscape.
