Maris Allik of Jõgeva district receives the Women’s Voluntary Defence Organization’s Lily Cross, Third Class

Maris Allik of Estonia’s Jõgeva district has received the Lily Cross, Third Class, one of the highest distinctions awarded by the Women’s Voluntary Defence Organization.

The honor was presented at Alatskivi Castle during the organization’s 99th anniversary celebrations. Allik has been a member for nearly a quarter of a century and is described as one of the district’s legendary members.

She led the district as chairwoman for three consecutive terms, guiding it for more than a decade. Later, she again took on leadership responsibilities as chairwoman of her local unit.
