Vaprus earns important win and raises substantial sum for cancer patients

Pärnu Vaprus turned a league victory into a €3,605 contribution to cancer treatment. The club’s sponsor, Coolbet, donated €5 to the Kingitud Elu fund for every fan who attended the free-admission match.

A crowd of 701 watched Vaprus face nearby rivals Nõmme United at Rannastaadion, immediately producing a €3,505 donation. The match itself remained goalless through the first half, but Vaprus found the winner in the 51st minute.

Full-back Kevin Aloe sent a long ball forward, and Tristan Pajos collected it in the penalty area before calmly finishing from eight metres. The goal brought another €100 from the sponsor, taking the 11-year total raised through the initiative, across the same number of matches, above €41,000.

The goal also gave Vaprus its first win over United this season. Pärnu moved six points ahead of the ninth-placed Nõmme side, which occupies a position leading to relegation playoffs at the end of the season. Vaprus also has a game in hand. On Wednesday, Pärnu will host Harju, who sit one place higher.
