Maritime evacuations from Crete wildfires: 31 rescued from Rethymno

Thirty-one individuals were evacuated by sea from southern Rethymno, Crete, as uncontrolled wildfires raged across the region, fanned by powerful winds. The operation, which concluded early Wednesday evening, involved vessels from the Hellenic Coast Guard, Frontex, and private boats.

Those evacuated from the village of Agios Pavlos were transported to Kokkinos Mylos.
