Marsha Milan considered withdrawing from AJL40 due to health

Singer Marsha Milan achieved a significant victory at the Anugerah Juara Lagu ke-40 (AJL40), securing the Best Vocal award despite battling ongoing health challenges. The artist, who has been dealing with severe acid reflux and sinus issues, found her ability to sing compromised. This personal struggle led her to doubt her prospects for winning, making the award particularly meaningful as it is her first Best Vocal accolade in her AJL career.

Marsha shared her profound gratitude for the win, stating she had not expected to receive the award. "I really didn't expect this award, but I am very grateful and honored to receive it," she said. She explained that her health condition made controlling her voice difficult, especially when acid reflux and sinus problems combined. "When acid reflux and sinus combine, it's quite difficult. And of course, in that situation, it makes it hard for me to control my voice," she added.

Despite the challenges, Marsha's daily health has been improving, although singing remains a hurdle due to occasional, uncontrollable coughing fits. The singer admitted that she had contemplated withdrawing from AJL40 due to her health. However, the unwavering support from her team played a crucial role in her decision to continue and perform on the prestigious stage. "Actually, I felt like that every day. But thank God, I have a very strong support system. They always motivate me, give me support, and always advise me to think positively," she explained.

Marsha also acknowledged the talent of her fellow competitors, specifically mentioning Aina Abdul as an artist she admires. She praised all the finalists for their performances at AJL40, highlighting the strong field of talent at the event. Her victory serves as a testament to her resilience and dedication amidst personal health struggles.
