Marta Kostyuk reaches quarterfinals for the first time

Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk has advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the first time in her career, defeating American qualifier Ashlyn Krueger in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.

The victory marks Kostyuk's second consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance, following her success at Roland Garros. The 22-year-old has been in remarkable form, winning 21 of her last 22 matches. This impressive run has propelled her closer to the WTA top ten rankings.

Kostyuk, who also won the Madrid Masters 1000 earlier in the season, demonstrated resilience by winning the final four games of the match against Krueger. Krueger, who had already achieved her best result at the All England Club, could not overcome Kostyuk's consistent play.

Kostyuk is set to compete against either Italy's Jasmine Paolini or the young Filipina talent Alexandra Eala in the quarterfinals. Her strong performance at Wimbledon continues her ascent in the professional tennis world.
