Martial arts icon Jackie Chan will visit Singapore in July

Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan is set to visit Singapore on July 7, according to an announcement by The Lim Family Foundation. The philanthropic organization, established by Singaporean businessman Peter Lim, confirmed the visit on Tuesday, June 30.

The 72-year-old actor, known globally for his roles in films like the "Rush Hour" series, will be attending an upcoming event organized by the foundation. A spokesperson confirmed that Chan's itinerary includes an appearance at Pei Chun Public School on the specified date.

This visit follows The Lim Family Foundation's previous high-profile event in Singapore, which saw the foundation bring football legend Cristiano Ronaldo to the city-state in 2023. During his visit, Ronaldo met scholarship beneficiaries and toured the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

The announcement of Chan's visit coincided with the presentation ceremony for the Singapore Olympic Foundation–Peter Lim Scholarship Awards. The event recognized over 400 student athletes who received a total of S$1.115 million (approximately US$860,400) in scholarships. Dignitaries present included David Neo, Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and SEA Games gold medallist Shanti Pereira.
