Marvel reveals X-Men cast, with Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister

Marvel Studios has officially unveiled the cast for its highly anticipated "X-Men" film, ending years of fan speculation. The announcement, made at the D23 event in California, revealed a new generation of actors stepping into iconic mutant roles.

Sadie Sink will portray Jean Grey, Kit Connor is set to play Cyclops, and Christopher Abbott will embody Professor X. Other notable cast members include Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver is slated to play the formidable antagonist, Mr. Sinister.

During the presentation, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige introduced the cast, who appeared on stage. Adam Driver shared a video message, expressing his long-standing desire to join the MCU and his excitement about finding the perfect role. "Kevin and I have been talking for years about me joining the MCU. They finally found something perfect with characters that are very meaningful to me," Driver said.

Several cast members had been subjects of earlier rumors. Sadie Sink's role as Jean Grey was hinted at after her character's debut in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." Kit Connor and Samara Weaving were also previously reported to be joining the franchise. Christopher Abbott, known for his work in "Girls" and theater, was a strong contender for Professor X, and Inde Navarrette gained attention for her role in the horror film "Obsession."

Directed by Jake Schreier, the "X-Men" film is a major development for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially after Disney's 2019 acquisition of 20th Century Fox, which brought the X-Men film rights under Disney's umbrella.
