Mary L. Trump: 'My Uncle Donald is a Misogynist'

Mary L. Trump, the clinical psychologist and niece of former US President Donald Trump, has publicly characterized her uncle as a misogynist, stating he does not respect women and has issues with them, particularly strong ones.

Her comments, published in an interview with the Italian newspaper "Corriere della Sera," came after President Trump's sharp criticism of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Mary Trump described her uncle as a deeply insecure man who loses control of himself. She believes his actions demonstrate a lack of understanding of his own conduct, leading him to cause disasters from which he cannot find a way out, fueling his desperation.

Mary Trump anticipates a worsening situation for the former president. She suggested that Trump is aware the conflict with Iran is a disaster for both him personally and for the United States. His increasing isolation, evident at recent events like the G-7 summit, forces him into a defensive posture where he attacks his allies, whom he perceives as insufficiently loyal.

He is a deeply insecure man. He loses control of himself, and it is becoming increasingly obvious that he does not know what he is doing and causes disasters from which he finds no way out. This makes him even more desperate. The only thing that then occurs to him is to blame others.

"As Meloni must now realize, Donald always ends up turning against his allies because they can never be loyal enough for him," his niece added.

Furthermore, Mary Trump attributed much of the current challenges to her uncle's severely impaired emotional and psychological state. She claimed he has suffered from undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders for decades, which have worsened over time. She also asserted he is experiencing significant cognitive decline. "This alone would be enough to make this time worse for him (and for us)," she stated, noting that he now wields considerably more power.
