Mateo Chávez and AZ Alkmaar Crowned Dutch Super Cup Champions

Mateo Chávez experienced an exceptional start to the season with AZ Alkmaar, securing the Eredivisie Super Cup title with a commanding 4-0 victory over PSV.

The Mexican international began the match as a starter on the left wing, playing 70 minutes and delivering a notable performance that included a skillful play leading to the team's first goal. The early expulsion of Joey Veerman in the 9th minute heavily influenced the game, granting a clear advantage to Chávez's squad. AZ Alkmaar capitalized on having an extra player, inflicting significant damage throughout the match.

Mexx Meerdink opened the scoring for AZ in the 25th minute. Mateo Chávez made a deep run to deliver a cross that was deflected by the PSV defense, but the rebound fell to the Dutch forward, who easily tapped it in.
