Mathias Jensen gets another season at Brentford

Brentford has secured midfielder Mathias Jensen for another season, exercising a clause in his contract to extend his stay with the Premier League club. Jensen's previous agreement was due to expire this summer, but his consistent performances have prompted the club to retain him.

Head coach Keith Andrews expressed his strong desire for Jensen to remain with the team. "He has played a big role both on and off the pitch, and his performances last season were at a very, very high level," Andrews stated, highlighting Jensen's significant contributions.

Jensen, who has earned 31 caps for the Danish national team, joined Brentford from Spanish club Celta Vigo in 2019. During his tenure, he has surpassed 150 Premier League appearances and reached a total of 250 games for the club.

The 30-year-old midfielder's overall statistics for Brentford now stand at 17 goals and 32 assists across 275 matches. His spectacular long-range goal against Manchester United in September was notably voted Brentford's goal of the season.
