Matt Damon: Filming 'The Odyssey' was tough, but daughter's pride made it all worthwhile

Actor Matt Damon has spoken candidly about the arduous process of filming "The Odyssey," describing it as the most challenging and demanding project he has ever undertaken. The 55-year-old actor told the outlet People that the production felt more like an expedition than a typical film shoot, with cast and crew enduring harsh weather conditions, including cold and rain.

"This movie was by far the longest and most challenging that I have ever been a part of," Damon stated. He revealed that despite the difficulties, the demanding days were ultimately worth it after hearing a moving comment from one of his daughters upon her seeing the film.

"She saw The Odyssey and at the end, she turned to me and said, 'Dad, I'm proud of you,'" Damon shared, adding that she had never said anything similar before, as they often joke around. This sentiment from his daughter made the entire ordeal worthwhile for the actor.

Damon, a father of four daughters with his wife Luciana Barroso, attended the premiere of Christopher Nolan's latest film, "The Odyssey," with all of them. He acknowledged that his family also made significant sacrifices for the movie. "I was away for a long time, they came and visited me, it was a lot. It was a very long movie, very difficult filming, and I'm really excited for the girls to see it tonight," he said at the premiere, highlighting the family's shared experience and support throughout the production.
