Matt Damon spotted at Gocheok Dome in a Kiwoom uniform - Why?

Hollywood star Matt Damon made an unexpected appearance at a professional baseball game in Seoul, just days after arriving in South Korea to promote his latest film.

Damon was spotted in the stands at Gocheok Sky Dome on Saturday, watching the KBO League game between the Kiwoom Heroes and the SSG Landers. He had arrived in the country the previous day with director Christopher Nolan and actress Charlize Theron to publicize their new movie, "Oppenheimer."

According to reports, Damon's visit to the baseball stadium was motivated by a desire to support Kiwoom's foreign slugger, Matt Davidson. The shared first name between the actor and the baseball player appears to have sparked Damon's interest.

Wearing a Kiwoom Heroes uniform, Damon was seen enjoying the game, making a heart shape with his hands for the broadcast cameras and clapping along with the crowd. Universal Pictures Korea also shared photos of Damon's stadium visit on their official social media channels.

Damon's film, "Oppenheimer," directed by Nolan, chronicles the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the "father of the atomic bomb." The film has already achieved significant global success, surpassing $600 million in worldwide box office revenue. It is set to premiere in South Korea on August 5, with Damon and other cast members scheduled to meet with local fans through press conferences and red carpet events.
