Matteo Pellegrino, Fiorentina's new player

Italian club Fiorentina has announced the signing of Argentine forward Matteo Pellegrino from Parma, bolstering their attacking options. The 24-year-old joins the Florence-based club after a successful debut season in Serie A, where he netted nine goals in 37 league matches for Parma.

Pellegrino, who stands at 1.92 meters tall, is a left-footed striker noted for his physical presence and aerial prowess. His performances for Parma established him as a key offensive player for the Emilia-Romagna club, making him a sought-after target.

Born in Valencia, Spain, Pellegrino's early football career saw him pass through youth academies like Valencia and Inter Milan due to his father's football commitments. He later developed in the youth ranks of Vélez Sarsfield in Argentina, the club where he began his professional journey.

He made the move to Italian football in February 2025, initially joining Parma from Vélez. His arrival at Fiorentina sees him join compatriot Franco Manstantuono and adds another piece to the project led by coach Fabio Grosso, with sporting director Fabio Paratici having identified Pellegrino as a primary target.
