Mayor Criticizes Bishkecasphalt-service for Roadwork Woes

Bishkek Mayor Aybek Dzhunushaliev has publicly voiced his dissatisfaction with the performance of the municipal enterprise Bishkecasphalt-service, highlighting a pattern of prolonged and disruptive road repairs that inconvenience the city's residents. During a media event, Dzhunushaliev questioned the necessity of leaving excavated streets in disrepair for extended periods, emphasizing the need for a more streamlined and continuous process for road maintenance.

He pointed out that such practices not only paralyze traffic but also create hazardous situations and general discomfort for the public. The mayor's remarks come amid ongoing public scrutiny of the city's infrastructure projects, including a recent controversy involving trees allegedly being paved over in Ata-Turk Park.
