Mazoon College fails to meet standards as OAQA withdraws accreditation status

Mazoon College has lost its institutional accreditation status, the Oman Authority for Quality Assurance of Education (OAQA) announced. The decision follows an "Exceptional Review" conducted to assess the impact of significant changes within the college on its ability to meet accreditation requirements.

The College no longer meets the institutional accreditation requirements and standards established by the Authority.

The review, distinct from periodic assessments, was initiated due to major institutional shifts. OAQA's findings concluded that Mazoon College no longer fulfills the established institutional accreditation requirements and standards. The authority emphasized that this outcome was confirmed after a thorough review process ensuring accuracy and integrity.

OAQA revoked the accreditation in accordance with its policies, asserting its mandate to ensure quality in higher education institutions. The authority noted that relevant government bodies will address any measures arising from this decision. Mazoon College is scheduled for an Institutional Standards Assessment in 2027 as part of its current accreditation cycle.
