Mbappé listed as kidnapping target of gang allegedly run by 18-year-old kingpin

Kylian Mbappé was reportedly among 26 potential kidnapping targets uncovered by French authorities while investigating an 18-year-old suspect known as Clément L.

The investigation began after police arrested two men in May who allegedly robbed a watch shop in Paris while carrying handguns before escaping on a scooter. Their trail led investigators to Clément L, who was already in prison over alleged offenses involving prostitution brokering and armed robbery.

French media reported that Clément L continued to run a gang from prison through Snapchat under the name “Lester Z.” When authorities examined two of his mobile phones, they found addresses and information linked to 26 people who were allegedly being considered as kidnapping targets. Mbappé stood out among the names. The French football star is reportedly estimated to have net wealth of about £200 million.

The alleged list also included rappers and wealthy businesspeople, among them a Turkish trader and a jewelry-shop owner. During questioning, Clément L sought to minimize his role. He continues to say that he was not the gang’s leader, but only served as an intermediary between an unidentified boss and the people who directly carried out crimes.
