Veteran media personality Huang Guang-chi has publicly clashed with Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman Huang Kuo-chang, accusing him of fostering a "pro-unification" direction within the party. Huang Guang-chi detailed the reasons for their rift, including Huang Kuo-chang's growing association with internet celebrity Holger Chen, whose political leanings have reportedly shifted towards a more pro-China stance.

Huang Guang-chi recounted their long professional relationship, stating she first interviewed Huang Kuo-chang when he led the New Power Party. She claimed that over seven years of interviews, she often had to adopt a conciliatory approach, yielding on sensitive topics. The media personality expressed concern that Huang Kuo-chang's continued closeness with Holger Chen, particularly during his New Taipei City mayoral campaign, signaled a problematic alignment.
