Media practitioners urged to uphold truth, accuracy

Media practitioners in Nigeria's Cross River State received a strong call to uphold truth, accuracy, and professionalism. This directive came at the conclusion of a five-day information and media convergence. The event, organized by the Forum of Directors of Information, brought together students, media professionals, and communication leaders, with some participants joining virtually.

Cynthia Maduekwe, the convener, praised partners, speakers, and attendees, describing the initiative as insightful, engaging, and impactful. She emphasized the platform's role in shaping participants as "watchdogs of society" and exposing them to journalistic ethical requirements. The convergence sought to bridge the information and skills gap for young journalists and public relations students, preparing them for the modern economy.

Maduekwe encouraged participants to apply their learnings within their communities. The event underscored the importance of ethical journalism and professional development in equipping the next generation of media professionals.
