Medical student found dead in dormitory room

Tuğçenaz Demirelöz, a 20-year-old first-year medical student at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (BEÜ), was found dead in her dormitory room. The incident occurred on Saturday evening in the girls' dormitory in the Kozlu district.

Demirelöz's family became concerned when they could not contact her and asked her friends to check on her. A friend went to her room and found Demirelöz lying motionless on the floor. The friend immediately contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel confirmed Demirelöz had passed away. Her body was taken to the Atatürk State Hospital morgue for an autopsy after initial examinations at the scene. Her dormitory friends expressed shock and deep sadness over the incident.

It was learned that Demirelöz had recently found a house and began moving her belongings. There are reports that she had visited a doctor some time ago and was diagnosed with a heart rhythm disorder. The exact cause of her death will be determined after the autopsy. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
