Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus takes place in Bishkek

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev hosted his Belarusian counterpart, Maxim Ryzhenkov, for an official visit and talks in Bishkek on July 22, 2026. The meeting focused on a broad spectrum of bilateral issues and priority areas for cooperation.

The two ministers thoroughly discussed cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. They noted the high level of political dialogue, including regular high-level contacts between their states. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing relations between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus to a new level, reviewing progress on agreements made during previous high-level visits.

Discussions also centered on practical matters, including scheduling upcoming events and identifying promising avenues for collaboration. In the trade and economic sphere, they considered potential dates for the next joint intergovernmental commission meeting. At the foreign ministry level, plans for the next round of inter-ministerial consultations were discussed.

Significant attention was given to strengthening cooperation within international and regional organizations such as the UN, CIS, EAEU, SCO, and CSTO. The Belarusian Foreign Minister congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its recent election to a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2027–2028. Minister Kulubaev extended an invitation to Belarus to participate in the Second Mountain Summit in 2027.

Concluding the meeting, Minister Ryzhenkov extended an invitation to Minister Kulubaev to visit Belarus at his convenience, signaling continued engagement between the two nations.
