A late-night traffic accident in Kaohsiung's Qianzhen District resulted in a chain collision involving a luxury vehicle and four parked cars. The incident unfolded on Baotai Road when a 23-year-old male driver, identified by the surname Ke, was operating a Mercedes Benz with a female passenger.

According to reports, Ke swerved to avoid a 62-year-old female cyclist, identified by the surname Luo, leading to the Mercedes Benz colliding with four cars parked along the roadside. Ke and his passenger sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Luo was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.

When she was trying to turn left from Baotai Road to Baotai Road 269 Lane, she stopped at the median strip to check for oncoming vehicles before starting, and was hit by Ke's vehicle.

Conflicting accounts emerged regarding the collision's specifics. Ke claimed he did not make contact with Luo. However, Luo stated that as she was attempting to turn left onto Baotai Road Lane 269 from Baotai Road, she stopped at a median to check for oncoming traffic before proceeding. She asserted that Ke's vehicle struck her.

Police are currently analyzing the incident to determine fault. Preliminary investigations suggest Ke may have failed to reduce speed at an unmarked intersection, while Luo may have not yielded to oncoming traffic when starting her maneuver.
