Messi returns to Inter Miami training after World Cup heartbreak

Lionel Messi has rejoined Inter Miami's training sessions, ten days after Argentina's World Cup final defeat. The star player was seen on the field with his friend Luis Suárez, according to a video posted by the club. Messi had spent a week resting with his family in Rosario, Argentina, to recover from the "very big pain" of losing the World Cup final to Spain.

Messi, 39, has not yet announced whether he will continue his international career. While he was in Argentina, Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos stated that Messi and fellow Argentine Rodrigo De Paul needed time to recover from the World Cup's physical and mental toll. Both players were excused from participating in the MLS All-Star Game.

It remains uncertain if Messi will play in Inter Miami's upcoming Saturday match against Columbus Crew or if he will be saved for the Leagues Cup. The team's first match in that tournament is on August 5 against San Luis.
