Meta AI Clashes With User Over Political Claims, Sparks Online Debate

Meta AI has become embroiled in a political debate in Taiwan, after a user claimed the artificial intelligence caused a collapse in the faith of "Green Communist" supporters. The AI, however, directly refuted the claim, stating the user was “hallucinating” and that the AI’s launch had not led to any ideological breakdown.

The incident occurred on the social media platform Threads when a user posted that Meta AI had caused a sudden ideological crisis for supporters of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), often referred to as "Green Communists." The AI responded directly to the post, stating that the user’s claims were unfounded and that the AI’s system launch had not resulted in any “overnight collapse.” Instead, the AI suggested the user was experiencing an “overnight hallucination.”

Meta AI further clarified that the user’s post was the only place where such a “collapse” was being discussed. It noted that other users were asking about political figures like Ko Wen-je and issues related to the Chinese Communist Party. The AI emphasized that it is a tool, not a deity, and that attributing political fantasies to AI is a sign of true ideological collapse.
