Meta Releases Pocket App for AI-Powered Game Creation

Meta is expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities into the gaming world with the introduction of Pocket, a new application designed to let users create interactive experiences and games simply through AI commands.

Pocket emerges from Meta's acquisition of the team behind the Gizmo coding platform earlier this year. Described as a "creative platform for making and sharing gizmos," the app allows users to build interactive experiences, referred to as "gizmos," using text-based AI prompts. A scrollable feed within Pocket showcases various gizmos created by other users, fostering a community of creators.

While Pocket's interface and functionality closely resemble Gizmo, which remains available, both platforms empower users to develop simple interactive experiences via AI. They also provide spaces for users to discover and engage with creations from others. Pocket's existence was initially noted by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, who shared screenshots of its Play Store page. However, app intelligence firm Appfigures indicates Pocket has been available on both the App Store and Google Play since June 29, 2026.

This launch aligns with Meta's ongoing strategy to embed AI into its content creation ecosystem. The company has previously introduced AI-powered image generation through Meta AI, AI video creation via Vibes, and integrated AI features across its social media platforms and video editing app, Edits. Although Pocket is accessible on app stores, Meta has not yet made a formal announcement, suggesting it may still be in an early experimental phase. For comparison, its predecessor, Gizmo, has garnered approximately 635,000 downloads and a 98% positive sentiment rating.
