Meteorological Authority Summons Publisher Over False “Climate Dome” Claims

Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology has rejected information circulating about what it called a “climate dome,” warning that the claims mislead the public and authorities about the weather.

The center said the reports falsely suggested that the phenomenon could alter climate conditions, increase the chances of unprecedented rainfall, or control the climate. It emphasized that “climate dome” is not a recognized scientific or technical term used by meteorological agencies or specialist organizations.

The center said it had summoned the publisher of the information so that legal procedures could be taken in coordination with the relevant authorities. It urged the public not to follow such claims and to obtain weather and climate information from official sources.
