Meteorological Service Issues September 7 Forecast: What Will the Weather Be Like Today?

Turkey’s Meteorological Service is warning of locally heavy rain along the eastern Black Sea coast as temperatures decline across the north and interior. The service expects temperatures in those areas to fall by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, while conditions elsewhere should change little.

The northern parts of the country are forecast to remain partly or locally very cloudy. Local showers and thunderstorms are expected along the eastern Black Sea coast, the central and eastern Black Sea coasts, and northeastern Eastern Anatolia. Other areas should remain mostly clear or lightly cloudy.

The eastern Black Sea coast faces the strongest rainfall risk. Rize is forecast to be very cloudy with locally heavy showers and thunderstorms, with a high of 23 degrees Celsius. Trabzon is expected to reach 24 degrees, also with locally heavy showers and thunderstorms. Samsun could see intermittent showers and thunderstorms, with a high of 26 degrees.

Winds will generally come from the north, while southeastern areas will receive light to moderate southerly winds. Strong winds of 40 to 60 km/h are expected in southern and western Marmara, the coastal Aegean, inland and elevated parts of the Mediterranean, and western Eastern Anatolia.

The forecast high is 28 degrees in Istanbul, 30 degrees in Bursa and Çanakkale, 35 degrees in Izmir and Muğla, 40 degrees in Antalya, 39 degrees in Adana, and 27 degrees in Ankara. The western Black Sea region will be partly to very cloudy, with morning showers and thunderstorms around northern Kastamonu and Sinop.
