Meteorologist brings good news for festival weekend weather

Festival-goers in Eastern Norway can look forward to improving weather as meteorologists predict that a severe storm threat will quickly dissipate. While concerns about rain, wind gusts, and thunder loomed earlier in the week, the forecast now indicates a much milder scenario.

This offers good news for attendees of festivals like OverOslo at Grefsenkollen in Oslo and the Idyll Festival in Fredrikstad. Currently, no severe weather warnings are in effect for either city for Saturday or Sunday.

Mjelstad described the expected rain as "mostly irritating, but not heavy." The main concern for thunder remains in inland areas like Mjøsa and Trysil. The weather is forecast to improve significantly towards the end of the weekend, with potential highs of 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday for Rogaland, Eastern, and Southern Norway. The outlook for the following week suggests even warmer temperatures, possibly reaching 27 degrees in the east and south.

Elsewhere in the country, the forecast is mixed. Western Norway and Trøndelag may start the week with rain, but conditions could improve by the weekend.
