Meteorologists report highest temperature city for Saturday

The highest temperature recorded on June 27th was just 0.5 degrees Celsius shy of the all-time June record of 33.2°C, which was set in Kretinga in 2022. Meteorologists warn that Sunday is expected to be even hotter, with daytime temperatures predicted to range between 31 and 36 degrees Celsius. Looking ahead, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service forecasts clear and dry conditions for Sunday. Winds will be light at night and from the south at 4-9 m/s during the day. Nighttime temperatures will range from 15-20°C, while daytime highs will reach 31-36°C. Some western areas might experience slightly cooler temperatures between 26-31°C. Early next week, the weather is expected to change, with scattered short-term rain and thunderstorms possible on Monday. Winds will shift to west and northwest at 6-11 m/s. Temperatures will rise overnight to 18-23°C, with daytime highs reaching 32-37°C, though western regions may see slightly cooler temperatures of 26-31°C. By Tuesday, scattered rain and thunderstorms are still possible, with winds at 5-10 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will be 16-21°C, and daytime highs will range from 26-31°C, with western areas experiencing 22-25°C.
