Meteorology warns of heavy rainfall in 5 Turkish provinces

Turkey's Meteorology General Directorate (MGM) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall across several parts of the country. The forecast indicates localized downpours and thunderstorms are expected in eastern Marmara, the Taurus Mountains region of the Mediterranean, and along the western and eastern Black Sea coasts, as well as the central Black Sea coast and northeastern parts of East Anatolia.

Specifically, the regions of Rize, Artvin, Kars, Ardahan, and the northeastern areas of Erzurum are anticipated to experience locally heavy rainfall. In addition to the precipitation, strong winds are predicted for the western Marmara region and the North Aegean coastlines. The MGM has urged residents in these affected areas to exercise caution and take necessary precautions.

The Ministry of Interior also shared a warning via its social media account, highlighting the expectation of strong, localized showers and thunderstorms around Samsun on the following day. Meanwhile, temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal norms in the southern parts of the country, while staying around average in other areas.

The meteorological office's warnings aim to provide timely information to the public, enabling them to prepare for potential weather-related disruptions and ensure their safety.
