Metlen and KNDS Showcase Advanced Armored Vehicle at Eurosatory 2026

Metlen is asserting its growing significance within the European defense sector by participating in the Eurosatory 2026 international defense and security exhibition in Paris. This event is recognized as a premier gathering for the global defense industry.

In a joint presentation with KNDS, Metlen unveiled the VBCI Philoctetes, a state-of-the-art French 8x8 armored infantry fighting vehicle. The unveiling occurred at KNDS's stand, attended by high-ranking French military officials, international media, and key figures from the European defense ecosystem.

The cooperation with KNDS for the co-production of the VBCI Philoctetes is a strategic partnership based on long-term cooperation and trust, as well as a common vision for the future of European defense.

Metlen's Executive Director, Vasilis Tsiamis, described the collaboration with KNDS on the VBCI Philoctetes as a strategic partnership built on long-standing trust and a shared vision for European defense. Nicolas Gruault, CEO of KNDS, echoed this sentiment, calling the VBCI Philoctetes a pioneering industrial cooperation between Greece and France. He expressed optimism that this vehicle could lead to further land defense system production at Metlen's new industrial complex in Volos, Greece.

This partnership, formalized in April 2025, includes the transfer of advanced aluminum armor technology and the development of manufacturing capabilities in Greece for the VBCI Mk2. Metlen has established itself as a reliable industrial partner, with its M Technologies Hub in Volos serving as a major center for complex metal structures and defense systems, boasting significant export activity and experience with international programs.

This is a substantial and long-term industrial commitment between the two countries and I am convinced that the VBCI Philoctetes could be the first of a series of land defense systems to be produced at the new industrial complex of M Technologies in Volos.
