Metro train conductor removed from duty for allowing unauthorized passenger in cabin

Mexico City's Metro system has suspended a train conductor from Line 2 after a video circulated online showing an unauthorized individual inside the driver's cabin during operation. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by the Metro's operations and transportation departments.

Authorities have identified the employee responsible for operating the train involved in the incident. The Metro confirmed that a report has been filed to commence administrative and labor proceedings against the conductor, in accordance with the General Conditions of Work and applicable regulations.

The operations and transportation departments of the STC became aware of the situation, conducted the corresponding investigation, and have identified the worker responsible for driving the train.

This disciplinary action could lead to the conductor's permanent dismissal from the public transport system. The Metro stated that the investigation is ongoing and the final decision will be made based on the established procedures and labor laws. The suspension aims to ensure the safety and security protocols within the transit system are upheld.

An administrative procedure will be initiated in strict adherence to the STC's general labor conditions and applicable regulations, according to which the worker could be sanctioned with permanent dismissal.
