Animal abuse alleged at Jamaica Market: Six dogs reportedly kept in extreme heat

A woman has denounced alleged animal abuse at Mexico City's Jamaica Market, a place typically known for its flowers and goods. She reported finding six dogs confined in small metal enclosures in the second-floor parking lot.

The dogs were allegedly kept there all day, enduring extreme heat, and only released at night to guard the market. The woman captured video of the situation, showing the dogs barking and hitting the doors of their enclosures.

"I came to Jamaica Market and in the parking lot upstairs, they have 6 dogs locked up all day, they only let them out at night to guard the place," she stated. She noted the dogs' aggressive behavior was likely due to the confinement and heat.

Visibility into the enclosures was limited, making it difficult to assess the dogs' health. The denouncer suggested the dogs were being used as a substitute for paid security services, arguing that "dogs are not at the service of humans, much less in those conditions."
