Mexican Customs Brokers Vow Zero Tolerance for Fiscal Smuggling

The Mexican Confederation of Customs Agents Associations (Caaarem) has adopted a firm stance against fiscal smuggling, declaring a policy of zero tolerance for any member involved in illicit activities. The organization stated it will not defend individuals who engage in dishonest use of their licenses or employ questionable practices that jeopardize national legality, security, or sovereignty.

In a comunicado, Caaarem clarified that its representation is reserved for customs agents who act responsibly, honestly, and in accordance with the law. "The defense of the customs agent is and will continue to be one of the fundamental reasons for our Confederation. Whoever works with honesty, complies with the law, and acts with responsibility will always have the backing of their professional organization," the statement read.
