Mexican Liga de Expansión Players Protest End of Promotion and Relegation

A unique protest unfolded during the opening match of the Liga de Expansión MX season between Mineros de Zacatecas and Correcaminos. Instead of a typical game, the players united in a silent demonstration against the controversial decision to abolish promotion and relegation in Mexican football.

As the referee's whistle blew, initiating the match at the Carlos Vega Villalba stadium, players from both Mineros and Correcaminos engaged in a minute of passive play. Mineros players focused on back-and-forth passes, while Correcaminos players offered no defensive pressure, allowing the ball to move freely without any attempt at scoring.
