Mexico announces new humanitarian aid shipments to Cuba and Venezuela

Mexico is preparing to send further humanitarian aid to Cuba and Venezuela, underscoring its commitment to international cooperation and solidarity. President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that her administration is coordinating a new shipment for Cuba, emphasizing respect for the sovereignty of nations.

"Sovereignty of the peoples and the support we can continue to provide to the people of Cuba. Just yesterday I spoke with Lázaro Cárdenas, who helps us coordinate this work, and with the Navy Secretariat to be able to send new support to the island," Sheinbaum stated during her morning press conference. This initiative follows a pattern of assistance Mexico has provided, particularly in light of Cuba's ongoing economic and energy crisis, exacerbated by natural phenomena and shortages of basic goods.

In parallel, Mexico will send two Navy ships carrying supplies to Venezuela in the coming weeks. This effort is part of a citizen-led collection campaign, supported by the federal government.
