Mexico City police issue fines and payment guarantees during hazardous materials transport inspection

Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in Mexico City carried out an operation to inspect vehicles transporting hazardous substances along the Anillo Periférico in the Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood of the Miguel Hidalgo borough.

The operation, conducted by officers from the SSC's Traffic Control Undersecretariat, involved 10 vehicle inspections. During these checks, nine fines were issued. Six of these citations were for speeding, while the remaining three were for driving in central lanes, indicating violations of traffic regulations.

In addition to the fines, nine payment guarantees were collected, and one warning was issued. The SSC stated that these actions are part of verifying compliance with current regulations, preventing risks to the public, and ensuring road safety. These random inspections specifically target tanker trucks carrying gas.

The operation involved a significant deployment of resources, with 61 police officers and 32 official vehicles participating. The SSC emphasized its commitment to maintaining safety and order concerning the transport of potentially dangerous materials within the capital.
