Mexico City prosecutors seek to question companions of young man who died during Reforma celebrations; possible responsibilities investigated

Mexico City prosecutors are seeking to interview the three young people who were with 18-year-old Isaías Aparicio Trejo when he died during celebrations for the Mexican national team's World Cup victory. The FGJ is investigating potential responsibilities of those present, particularly concerning allegations that the victim was abandoned and robbed while unconscious.

A necropsy revealed that Isaías had a severe alcohol intoxication, with a blood alcohol content of 354 milligrams per 100 milliliters. He died of bronchoaspiration. The FGJ's coordinator for victim support, Gianni Rueda de León Iñigo, stated that they are looking into whether others present could be held responsible for leaving him in that state or for taking his possessions.

Isaías's mother, Brenda Trejo, expressed doubts about the cause of death and noted inconsistencies with the forensic doctor's findings. She also reported that the hospital initially did not return her son's clothing. After the FGJ intervened, the clothing was returned, but she observed marks that she felt were inconsistent with bronchoaspiration. Due to these concerns, the family has decided not to cremate the body, allowing for further investigation.
