Mexico City restaurants offer special menus for World Cup 2026

Mexico City is gearing up for the 2026 World Cup with a festive atmosphere, as numerous restaurants roll out special culinary and beverage offerings to enhance the viewing experience. The city, already a host for the tournament, is embracing the football fervor.

El Tajín, a classic establishment in the southern part of the city, presents its "Menú de cancha." Chef Ana Arroyo has crafted a cantina-style menu featuring 11 traditional Mexican snacks, national beer, and 2x1 drink promotions. This offer is available during Mexico's matches played between 2 PM and 3 PM, from June 11 to July 19. The package costs 550 pesos per person, excluding service, and requires advance reservation.

Argentine restaurant Piantao, located near CU and the Azteca Stadium, has created "La Cancha." This offering includes casual dishes like choripanes and guacamole, catering to a relaxed match-day vibe. Notably, Piantao features a "gallery of memories" showcasing photographs of football figures and patrons who have visited the restaurant. The promotion runs from June 11 to July 19.

Additionally, the concept GRADA, a collaboration between Restaurante Salazar and Diageo, aims to capture the stadium's fan atmosphere. Open for 39 days, from June 11 to July 19, GRADA will feature mixology, gastronomy, and takeovers by various bars and restaurants, serving as a hub for pre- and post-match gatherings.
