Mexico investigation agent killed while serving warrant; assailant also dead

An investigation agent from the State of Mexico's Attorney General's Office was killed in Cuautitlán Izcalli after being shot while attempting to serve a warrant. The agent, who was assigned to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Femicides, arrived at an apartment building to carry out a legal duty when the attack occurred.

Sources indicate that both the police investigator and the assailant died at the scene, which was located within building 391 at the intersection of Hacienda Mayorazgos and Xalpa avenues. Emergency services and municipal police from Cuautitlán Izcalli responded to the incident.

Following the confrontation, authorities from the State Attorney General's Office and local police arrested four individuals. These detainees were subsequently transferred to the custody of the State Prosecutor's office, where they will face questioning by the public ministry.
