Mexico's envoy highlights AI co-production opportunities with U.S.

Mexico's Ambassador to the United States, Roberto Lazzeri, met with U.S. trade officials to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance co-production between the two nations. Lazzeri described the discussions with William Kimmitt, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, and David Fogel, Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, as productive.

During the meetings, Lazzeri emphasized Mexico's advancements in AI infrastructure and capabilities. He expressed a desire to align these strengths with regional value chains to attract further investment in a sector deemed crucial for North America's competitiveness and economic security. The ambassador also noted the importance of articulating these opportunities to foster collaboration.

As part of his tour, Lazzeri concluded his activities in Texas, where he met with the mayor of Irving, Albert C. Zapanta. They discussed the strong economic and human ties connecting Mexico and the city, exploring ways to leverage these connections for increased collaboration, trade, and investment opportunities. The meeting was attended by the Consul of Dallas, Luis Rodríguez Bucio.
