Mexico: Suspected CJNG-linked gang member faces trial for murder

Geisler “N,” identified by the State of Mexico's Attorney General's Office as a priority target and suspected member of the “Los Vallarta” criminal cell, faces trial for murder. The Attorney General's Office stated that Geisler “N” is linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

The suspect is accused of participating in the killing of a man on June 2 in the El Salado neighborhood. According to the investigation, Geisler “N” approached the victim to deliver a note. The victim reportedly agreed to pay money, but Geisler “N” claimed it was insufficient. A woman accompanying him then produced a firearm, which Geisler “N” allegedly used to kill the victim.

Following the incident, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Geisler “N.” He was apprehended and taken to the Nezahualcóyotl Penitentiary and Social Reinsertion Center. A judicial authority has ordered him to stand trial and imposed pre-trial detention, with a two-month period for further investigation.

Prosecutors also indicated that Geisler “N” allegedly managed operations outside prison for Fernando “N,” known as “El F1,” “El Negro,” or “Lic. Vallarta.” This leader is reportedly the main link between inmates and the outside for extortion and drug sales. Fernando “N” is currently imprisoned and facing charges for the murder of two municipal police officers.
