Gunfight over union dispute on Mexico highway kills two, injures four

The incident, which involved an armed group allegedly opening fire directly on the workers present, led to the complete closure of the highway for several hours. Witnesses reported that the dispute has been ongoing for years, centering on the control of material transport and labor quotas for the road construction. They also expressed frustration over the response of local authorities, stating, "We repeatedly called the Villa del Carbón police, and they never arrived; help had to come from the neighboring municipality of Nicolás Romero."
