Mexico U-20 player calls on Liga MX clubs: 'We are ready for more minutes'

Mexico's U-20 national team has reached the quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Championship, completing a flawless group stage where they secured nine points and did not concede a single goal. Despite their strong performance, opportunities in Mexico's top professional league, Liga MX, remain limited for the players coached by Alex Diego. Luis Gómez, a 19-year-old midfielder from Santos Laguna, voiced a call to Liga MX clubs, expressing the team's readiness for more playing time. "We are prepared, we are ready for a bit more minutes, it could be. We remain focused here with the national team and taking it step by step, obviously. Now we go for the quarterfinals and also think about the championship," Gómez stated. He emphasized that the team's cohesion and years of working together have been crucial to their success in the tournament held in Puebla. "We have been working for quite some time, we have years of work, going on tours, many matches. So we are very solid and, as I tell you, we are very united and together," the midfielder asserted. The Mexican U-20 team now awaits their quarterfinal opponent, with a victory securing their spot in next year's World Cup in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Their ultimate goal is to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
