The report claims that Sarp Yalçınkaya, an individual cooperating with authorities under the "effective repentance" provision in the İBB investigation, identified Dervişoğlu as a key figure.

According to the allegations cited by Türkgün, Yalçınkaya, who reportedly feared repercussions if the name was revealed, described a "mysterious opposition leader." The newspaper asserts this leader is Müsavat Dervişoğlu, who allegedly met with Murat Gülibrahimoğlu, described as being at the center of alleged money laundering activities, at a restaurant in Beylikdüzü. The purpose of the meeting, as claimed, was to mediate billions of liras worth of excavation tenders and negotiate commissions.
