Middle East on edge as attacks hit UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan amid US-Iran strikes

The Middle East is experiencing a dangerous escalation, with multiple nations reporting attacks on their soil and military installations. The United States has continued its strikes against targets within Iran for six consecutive days, reportedly hitting bridges in southern Iran, including near the strategic Strait of Hormuz, and in the provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Bushehr, and Ahvaz. Preliminary reports indicate casualties, with seven deaths and nine injuries.

In a significant retaliatory move, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting a US military base in Kuwait, Ali Al-Salem Air Base, which houses American personnel. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility, stating the strikes were in response to attacks on its southern coast and cities. The targets reportedly included a tactical missile defense early warning radar and troop locations. Iran also fired a missile that reportedly struck the King Fahd Causeway, connecting Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and claimed drone strikes against the Al-Sakhir airbase in Bahrain.

Further incidents include explosions at the US Al-Udeid base in Qatar and reports of missile strikes on a US base in Jordan. A fire was also reported in a district of Kuwait near the Iraqi border. The conflict's diplomatic front is also active, with Iran's Foreign Ministry summoning the British ambassador to protest the UK's designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. Iran has warned of "crushing blows" to remaining infrastructure in the region if the US continues to target Iranian facilities.
