Milan defeats Venezia 2-0 in San Siro return, Ramos scores on debut

AC Milan celebrated their return to Serie A at San Siro with a 2-0 victory over Venezia on Friday. The win was highlighted by the debut goal of new signing Gonçalo Ramos and an own goal from Venezia's Redouane Halhal.

The match also saw Rúben Amorim make his debut as the "rossoneri" coach, following the team's fifth-place finish last season. The stadium also paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary captain Franco Baresi, who passed away at age 66 on July 31.

Milan dominated possession in the first half, but struggled to break down a compact Venezia defense. Despite creating several chances, particularly through Luka Modric and Gonçalo Ramos, the score remained goalless at halftime. Samuel Chukwueze was a notable threat on the right wing.

In the second half, Milan intensified their pressure. Yunus Musah hit the crossbar in the 55th minute, and substitutions like Adrien Rabiot and Alexis Saelemaekers bolstered the attack. Ramos finally found the net in the 69th minute, finishing calmly after a pass from Saelemaekers. The late own goal by Halhal sealed the victory for Milan.

Venezia, newly promoted, will face Frosinone next, while Milan travels to face Juventus.
