Military Training Integrates Drones to Boost Modern Combat Capabilities

Taiwan's military is advancing its training programs by incorporating drone technology, marking a significant shift towards modernizing its armed forces. For the first time, the joint recruit training for the three branches of the military and nine educational institutions has introduced "football drones."

This new element allows recruits to gain early experience in drone flight technology. The training emphasizes a combination of technological application and teamwork. Recruits learn about flight safety checks, simulated flights, and actual drone operation within a secure environment. This hands-on approach aims to build fundamental control capabilities and expose them to the trends of intelligent warfare.

Beyond drone operations, the program includes rapid response shooting drills and 25-meter zeroing exercises. These components are designed to improve soldiers' ability to react quickly and accurately in simulated combat scenarios. Recruits practice shooting from various cover positions, refining their movements, aiming, reloading, and target engagement under instructor guidance.

The military views this integrated approach as crucial for developing soldiers' tactical proficiency and adaptability. By combining technological knowledge, such as drone piloting, with practical combat skills like rapid firing and grenade throwing, the training aims to cultivate well-rounded soldiers. This foundation is intended to prepare them for advanced military training and the defense of Taiwan.
