Military weapons found in vehicle near Paris synagogue; 300 residents evacuated

French authorities have launched an investigation into a potential terrorist threat after military weapons were found in a suspicious vehicle near a synagogue in Sarcelles, a suburb north of Paris. The discovery led to the emergency evacuation of approximately 300 residents.

The incident unfolded when the French Ministry of the Interior received a report about a suspicious vehicle in a predominantly Jewish area. An explosives disposal unit searched the car, confirming the presence of military-grade weaponry. The vehicle was parked about 500 meters from a large synagogue, a cinema, and several restaurants.

France's domestic intelligence agency, DGSI, had reportedly received information about a possible terrorist attack by an Islamic extremist targeting the synagogue in Sarcelles. Intelligence suggested a Toyota vehicle might be involved in the plot.

The national counter-terrorism prosecutor's office stated that no one was inside the vehicle when security forces discovered it. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities exploring all possibilities, including a premeditated attack.
